What NetMeter measures

Is NetMeter an internet speed meter or a speed test?

It shows the current download and upload traffic on your Mac. Network interface counters also include local network traffic. NetMeter does not test the maximum speed of your internet connection.

Where is usage history saved?

On your Mac, in your Library folder. NetMeter counts usage while it is running and can export retained daily totals to CSV.

Put live network speed in the menu bar.
